I highly recommend Jaya who is a very experienced guide. Growing up in a Nepalese village, he has spent a good part of his life as a guide. His knowledge of his country is incredible besides being a lovely person. We certainly felt very well cared for on our trek up to the Australian Base Camp. Besides that, he is a very experienced guide for longer treks as well.

I had the pleasure and privilege to hike with Jay to the Australian Camp in March 2023. He is the most kind and friendliest guide you can hope for! Besides being extremely experienced, he knows the mountains in and out and loves them from the bottom of his heart!! He grew up in the middle of the Himalayas, started as a porter and worked himself up to become a guide and build his own trekking company!

We had lovely conversations, and many laughs! Jay has a deep knowledge of Nepal and the Himalayas, an excellent sense of humor and he is very responsible. He always has an eye on everyone and everything! Highly recommend!!!

We were a group of midlife women from different nationalities with no experience in hicking and we went at our own pace on this private trek. Physically it was a gently, progressing and rewarding journey.

Our guide Jaya was fantastic answering all our questions and patiently helped us with every part of the trip: Teahouse accommodation, meals, and permits are included so all you need to do is enjoy the views and the physical challenge of hiking in the Himalaya.

We walked through the wooded area and passed by small farming villages.
In the Australian Base Camp, we enjoyed the sunrise of the majestic peaks of Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fish tale) , and many others as well as the eagles flying near us, delicious meals and comfortable beds.
From the charming Australian Camp we went to Sarangkot, about 10 km away from Pokhara; one of the best viewpoints around Pokhara to watch the lake from above and the orange rays of the sun hitting the heads of Annapurna peaks.

I really recommend a short distance hicking like we did to travelers who want to experience incredible Himalayan views but don’t have time for a long trek.

I highly recommend UNIQUE NEPAL ADVENTURE to any type of traveler’s because they have lot of experience, know the region, Jaya was born in a high mountain village and is a very experienced guide with hundreds of long trekkings.

My life has been enriched by what I saw, by what I learned and most importantly by the connections I made with Nepalese people.

If you want enjoy fun of trekking, but you only have three or four days available, we recommend 2 nights 3 days Nagarkot Chispani trekking. We enjoy breakfast from our hotel of Thamel Park, Our tour guide Jay and his car already standby pick up, after around 45 minutes from Kathmandu city, we arrived our starting point Shivapuri National Park, we cross the beautiful villages and lunch in the lodge, Afterwards we cross the Shivapuri hill 2350m and downward to our destination Chisopani and stay at a a comfortable lodge.

Second day we walk.around 7 hours to Nagarkot 2175m to spend overnight. The hotel room was comfortable and foods were fantastic. We enjoy the sunset and sunrise view in Nagarkot.

Third days after viewing the Sunrise take a wonderful breakfast, we walk downhill to Telkot of Changunarayan. The landscape were brilliant, after three hours down hill the private car had already waiting for us back to Kathmandu.
Tour Guide Mr. Jay Gunrung is very professional, friendly and good communication skill. The cost for the trip was low and good memory in our trip to Nepal.

This was our second trip with Jay and his team, and this one was even better than the last. Previously we had done the Phu Nar Valley with him, and after Covid we wanted to do another trek. It was myself (38), my husband (40) and my father (78). Jay arranged everything for us, including making us feel confident my father can make it all the way up to Gokyo Ri (17,500 feet). Jay did an excellent job of making the experience seamless. He arranged all of our transport, meals and lodging as well as a few extra days we had in Kathmandu. If you want a trip that is tailored to you and your needs at a very reasonable trip, work with Jay. He and his team are great trip leaders.

We recently completed our 2nd trek with Jay and Unique Nepal Adventure Treks & Expedition. Just like our first trip, Jay made this trek an amazing and unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend Unique Nepal Adventure Treks and will definitely be contacting Jay the next time we plan a trip to Nepal.

Jay Gurung and his company 'Unique Nepal Adv Treks' had organized our trek to Naar and Phu in the Anapurna region in 2019 and made it an awesome, fantastic experience. So it was obvious that we hired him to organize our new trek to the Gyoko lakes and help us attempt the climb of Gyoko-Ri at 5,360m. This time he was our organizer and guide himself and he added Binot our porter from the earlier trek and a new Sherpa who joined us in Lukla to complete his team. We, my daughter and her husband and myself, had an amazing experience. Jay organized everything, getting us from the airport, providing a great hotel in Kathmandu, and on the trek providing three meals, a room in a guesthouse and constant attention to make our trek a safe one. Given my age, 78, he made sure that I kept up with the group and that I had nothing to carry but my fanny pack (even my water bottle was carried by Binot). Add to this that we had great weather and succeeded with the climb of Gyoko-Ri, it was a once in a life-time experience. Small things, like a daily apple and cookies and playing Dhumbal near a warming fire, made us appreciate Jay’s attention to detail in organizing the trek. Overall, I can recommend him and his company most highly for any trek into the high mountains.

Jay, Director of Unique Nepal Adventure Treks&Expedition, has perfectly organized a trip for us from A to Z in Nepal for the second time since 2004. He was easy to work with during the planning pfase,.Thanks to his well-founded knowledge, we were able to learn a lot about the foreign culture in Kathmandu during the tour of the city. The trekking in the Everest area was awesome. Fantastic mountains, flora and fauna. Jay not only knows all the names of the mountains (he really knows ALL of them), but also the respective height. Jay is a storyteller who shared lots of local informations. And he is always in a good mood. He is reliable and punctual. The price-performance ratio is 100% correct. The crowning glory followed in Kathmandu in a traditional restaurant with local entertainment.
