Manang Valley Tour is a fantastic journey, driving along the Marshyangdi River side, with amazing views. Who doesn’t have enough time to trek or who don’t like trekking, they can go directly by local jeep or take a private jeep to Manang.

Explore the Manang valley as a heritage village that showcases the local lifestyle and their typical culture, and enjoy the magnificent view of the white snow-capped mountains. It will be a fantastic trip of a lifetime.

The Manang Valley Tour is a 4- to 5-day perfect trip. We organized a wonderful trip along Besisahar, Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, and Manang. You will meet stunning lakes called the Blue, Green, and Gangapurna Lake. It's amazing scenery with the reflection of the mountains.

First of all, you will catch a local Bus from Kathmandu to Besisahar, it is noramly 7 hours journey. Then, the next day, you can catch a local jeep to Manang, which will be an almost 7-8 hour drive. Then, explore Manang valley, enjoy the beautiful mountain views, and then return by jeep to Kathmandu.

You will see amazing views along the riverside of the Manang tour, Bung Waterfall, and Actopus Jharna in Chymje village. It's such a beautiful waterfall in Nepal.

About Manang Village

Manang is one of the biggest local villages at a high altitude (3500m), where many local people live. They have their own culture, language, dress, costumes, rituals, religious and mountain lifestyle.

There are so many tourist facilities in Manang village, and those doing adventure trekking of Tilicho Lake Trek or the Thorong La Pass in the Annapurna Circuit, they rest here and hike the surrounding hills for better acclimatization.

The Manang has many old and new monasteries and Buddhist monuments such as Stupas, Mani walls, Tsortens, Prayerwheels, Prayer Flags, etc. They celebrate some local festivals according to their rituals.

They are farmer, they grow some crops and vegetables. Especially buckwheat, barley, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, radish, and Apples. They have Yaks, sheep, and goats.

You will see those magnificent mountain views.

There are some hills to see those mountains clearly; I can recommend ascending the 150-meter Stupa Viewpoints, from where you will see beautiful mountain views.

How to get there by local jeep?

First of all, if you book with us, we organize it likewise.

Kathmandu to Besishahar by local bus. You should catch the bus early in the morning from the bus station. It is more or less 7 hours drive. I can give you an option: if you arrive in Besisahar early, catch a local jeep to Dharapani or to Chame. It will be wonderful because adjust altitude. Dharapani is 2000m, and Chame is 2600m.

Then, on the second day, if you are in Besisahar, catch a local jeep for Manang village. You will get it easily. Besisahar to Manang 7/8 hours drive; if you stay at Dharapani or Chame, just a few hours' drive, and you will arrive easily at Manang.

I can recommend that you stay one day to explore it. Then, catch a local jeep to return to Besisahar, and transit buses are available in Besisahar and back to Kathmandu.

I am making a day-to-day program, which you can see properly there. Here are just some ideas.

  1. Kathmandu to Besisahar by comfortable local bus or by Hiace (7/8 hrs.) drive.
  2. Besisahar to Manang (7 hrs.) drive, and the altitude is 3450m.
  3. Explore the village and hike to the Stupa viewpoint to see majestic mountain views.
  4. Catch an early morning local jeep for Besisahar. (6/7 hrs.) drive.
  5. Besisahar to Kathmandu by local bus or Hiace (7 hrs.) drive.

If you like only 4 days, it is also possible, but on day 4 must go back to Kathmandu directly. 

Two-Day Trekking to Manang Valley Trip 

Manang Valley Tour can be 2 days trekking also possible. You will go directly to Chame by vehicle, then walk to Pisang and Manang. Then, return again by local jeep to Besisahar and back to Kathmandu or Pokhara. 

Day 01: Kathmandu to Besisahar by bus, then transit via Local jeep to Chame.

Day 02: Trekking to Pisang Village (3300m) Walking (6 to 7 hours.

Day 03: Trekking to Manang Village (3500m), walking (7 hours) with the best views.

Day 04: Explore Manang Village and stay in a beautiful town in Manang.

Day 05: Return by local jeep to Besisahar, then transit to Kathmandu or Pokhara.

It is also possible that we make a wonderful trip according to your choices, fully by jeep touring or a couple of days walking. Feel free for optional.

Cost of Manang Valley Tour

If you do the Manang valley tour in 4 days, the full board package cost is 350$ per person, and for 5 days 375$ each. But we need a minimum of two people in a group. If you are a solo traveler, the cost will come a bit more.

It is only 5 days touring package, including a full round-trip local jeep and bus, meals during the trip, an ACAP permit, and one guide. It is a very reasonable price.

A 4 to 5-day Manang Valley Tour is a perfect program. 

Kathmandu to Besisahar by local bus or Hiace, it takes 7 to 8 hours. Better to stay at Besisahar, or if you arrive quite early in the afternoon, catch a local Jeep on a sharing basis to Dharapani or till Chame. But, it is quite a long drive because 5 to 6 hours from Besisahar to Chame.

But, if you go to Dharapani, it is at quite a high altitude (2000m), and Chame is 2600m, and it will be great acclimatization. Optional, and the situation makes your camp.

It is such a wonderful drive along the Marsyangdi River. You will see the first impression, Bung and Actopus Jharna (waterfall) near Chyamche village. It is such a beautiful and unique. Then, arrive at Dharapani for the intersection of the Manaslu and Annapurna circuit trek.

Then, arrive at Chame, Pisang, and Manang. There is an apple garden in Bratang, Blue and Green lake between Pisang and Manng. Manang is a really nice village with well-managed lodges.

After taking a yummy breakfast at the lodge, explore the old and huge village of Manang. There is a lovely stupa hill, ascending almost 150 meters, and watch the magnificent views of white snow peaks such as the Annapurna ranges, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Lake.

It makes such a joyful and pleasant experience. There is Gangapurna Lake as well. It is such a wonderful place and feels like paradise. And stay overnight at Manang.

Catch an early morning local jeep in Manang; it takes around 7 hours to drive from Manang to Besisahar. It is lovely scenery, different views returning. You will stop for lunch at some place. You can stay at a nice hotel in Besisahar.

If you want to come back late evening in Kathmandu, you will get a local bus or a hiace and catch it, but you will arrive late evening, around 11 or 12 at night. So I am making 5 days trip.

It will be a wonderful drive along the riverside; it takes around 7 hours to arrive in Kathmandu. They stop somewhere for lunch break. You can stay at your selected Hotel in Kathmandu.

If you want 4 days trip, Manang to Kathmandu is a long drive, but we can manage it. The 5-day trip is comfortable. It is customizable, feel free.

Packing List for Normal Hiking and Trekking:

You should prepare the listed things for normal trekking and hiking. It makes for a successful and joyful trip.

Base Layer (innerwear)

  • 2–3 moisture-wicking t-shirts (quick-dry, not cotton)
  • 1–2 long-sleeve thermal tops
  • 2–3 pairs of trekking/thermal underwear

Mid Layer (warmth)

  • 1–2 fleece jackets or pullovers
  • 1 lightweight down jacket or synthetic insulated jacket

Outer Layer (protection)

  • Down Jacket, Warm fleece.
  • 1 waterproof/windproof jacket (Gore-Tex or similar)
  • 1 pair of waterproof trekking pants
  • Trekking Pants & Shorts
  • 2 pairs of trekking pants (lightweight, quick-dry)
  • 1 pair of trekking shorts (for warm days, optional)

Accessories

  • 3–4 pairs of trekking socks (wool or synthetic)

While we provide a basic first aid kit for common issues like headaches or fever, it won’t cover personal medical needs.
